Hello, my name is Laurel and I am crazy about food and cooking! I especially love to cook healthy meals that actually taste good too. I know many of you are busy professionals but want to be able to cook healthy meals at home. Not only do you save a TON of money, but you also have control over what goes into your meals. You cannot believe how much fat and salt are in restaurant foods. If you don’t believe me, all you have to do is look up your favorite restaurant and see if they have the nutrition information for their menus. It’s shocking. For instance, I looked up the nutrition information for the Old Spaghetti Factory. Do you know that their Chicken Caesar salad has 990 calories and a whopping 76 grams of fat? You would think a chicken salad was a good choice, but obviously not! They do have items that are low in fat and calories, but you do have to be aware. Believe it or not, the spaghetti with the meat sauce is one of the best choices.
But my point here is, you always do much better when you can prepare your own meals. And truly you save so much money. So folks, I am here to help! I am going to provide simple, healthy menus and recipes for two for those busy professionals! I welcome all of your comments and would love to know what your favorite foods are. I will try to provide a variety of flavors and ethnic foods to tempt your palate. I look forward to eating well with you all!
